House prices in Vancouver have increased again with the average cost of a detached house rising 12.5 per cent in April to $1.08 million and the benchmark for a typical home now at $673,000. Housing starts in one province have increased by 83 per cent year-over-year, according to new figures. In Ontario, the seasonally adjusted annual rates (SAAR) of urban starts were 4,485 in March 2015, a significant increase on the 2,456 urban starts in March 2014.
